AgriLife iPad Setup

This guide will walk you through setting up your new AgriLife-owned iPad and should have you going in a few minutes.

If you would like to download this setup as a pdf, click here.

Setup Steps

Step 1

Take your new iPad out of the box and turn it on. Press the home button. Select the device language.

Step 2

Select the United States on the Select Your Country or Region screen.

Step 3

You will be prompted to complete the “Quick Start” setup. Select “Set Up Manually” to begin configuring your iPad.

If this iPad is replacing a previously AgriLife-owned iPad, and you wish to transfer data and apps directly from the old iPad, hold the old iPad near your new one, and follow the on-screen instructions on both iPads. Contact the FirstCall Service Desk if you need assistance with this process.

Step 4

Connect your iPad to your wifi network by choosing your network name and entering the wifi password.

Your iPad will then activate. This may take a few minutes, so be patient.

Step 5

Tap Continue on the Data & Privacy Notice

Step 6

You will then be prompted to transfer data to your new iPad. If this iPad is not replacing a previously AgriLife-owned iPad, select “Don’t Transfer Apps & Data” to set this up as a new device

If this iPad is replacing a previously AgriLife-owned iPad and you wish to transfer data and apps from a backup of that device, select the appropriate restore option. Contact the FirstCall Service Desk for help if needed.

Step 7

Click Next in the top right corner on the Remote Management screen

Remote Management will allow AIT to help locate your device if it is ever lost or stolen. In the event it can not be recovered, the remote management software can send a wipe command to the device to ensure your data is kept safe. This process also makes the device unusable for any thief, as they would not have an AgriLife account to configure the device, essentially making the device useless.

Step 8

Enter your AgriLife AgNet ID and password

Your username is your firstname.lastname

Step 9

Once through the remote management setup, you will be prompted to set up Touch ID.

You can do this now or opt to set this up at a later time.

Select Continue to set up now, or Set up Touch ID Later to set it up at a later time.

Step 10

Create a passcode

Step 11

For AgriLife-owned iPads, you will need to sign in with an Apple ID that is tied to your AgriLife email address, and not a personal Apple ID.

If you have already set up your Apple ID using your AgriLife email address, you can use your credentials to sign in now. If you do not have your AgriLife Apple ID set up yet, you can tap the “Forgot password or don’t have an Apple ID?”

Step 12

Select Create a Free Apple ID or Set Up Later in Settings

Step 13

Agree to the iOS Terms & Conditions

Set your preferred settings for Location Services, Siri, Screen Time, Analytics, and Appearance

Your iPad setup is now complete!
