Add your AgriLife email to your Android

There are 3 ways you can set up your AgriLife email on an Android

  1. Through the Outlook app (AIT recommended method)
  2. Through Settings
  3. Through the Mail App

Set up your email through the Outlook app

  1. Download and install the Microsoft Outlook app from the Google Play app store here
  2. Once the app has finished installing, tap Open
  3. Tap ADD ACCOUNT
  4. Enter your AgriLife email as your firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
  5. Tap CONTINUE
  6. Enter your current AgriLife AgNet password
  7. Tap Sign In
  8. Choose to Save or not save your password
  9. Select your method of authentication using Duo
    • Send me a Push (sends a push to the Duo app on your phone)
    • Call Me (Calls your phone and prompts you to press a number on your keypad)
    • Enter a Passcode (sends you a text with a code which you must enter)
  10. Tap MAYBE LATER when prompted to add another account

Set up your email through Settings

AIT highly recommends using the Outlook app.
Not all versions of Android OS or the native Android Mail client support Duo, and cannot authenticate.

  1. Tap Settings
  2. Tap Accounts
  3. Tap Add Account
  4. Select Exchange for the account type
  5. Enter your information to match the following:
    • Email Address: firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
    • Password: Your current AgNet password
  6. Tap Manual Setup
  7. Enter the following information to match on the Exchange Server Settings screen:
    • Email Address: firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
    • Domain\Username: firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
    • Password: Your current AgNet password
    • Exchange Server: outlook.office365.com
  8. Tap Sign In
  9. Tap OK once you have read and understand the text on the Email Activation screen
  10. Tap OK on the Remote Security Administration
  11. On the Manual Setup Screen
    • you can setup your sync schedule email notifications, and what you would like to sync from your account to your phone
    • tap Sign In when you have set your preferences
  12. Tap Activate on the Activate Phone Administrator screen
    • This will allow you to do a remote factory reset on your phone by logging in to outlook.office365.com, in the event that your phone is lost, damaged, or stolen
  13. On the Edit names screen, name your account
    • this is what you will see the email app when looking at your list of accounts, or in Combined View
  14. Tap Done

Set up through Mail App

AIT highly recommends using the Outlook app.

  2. Tap Inbox
  3. Tap Settings
  4. Tap Add account
  5. Select Corporate for the account type
  6. Enter your information to match the following:
    • Email Address: firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
    • Password: Your current AgNet password
  7. Tap Manual Setup
  8. Enter the following information to match on the Exchange Server Settings screen:
    • Email Address: firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
    • Domain\Username: firstname.lastname@agnet.tamu.edu
    • Password: Your current AgNet password
    • Exchange Server: outlook.office365.com
  9. Tap Sign In
  10. Tap OK once you have read and understand the text on the Email Activation screen
  11. Tap OK on the Remote Security Administration
